Nigeria: Building Collapses In Lagos And Six People Die

Now another sad news! Six people are confirmed killed in a building that collapsed at 29B, Oloto Street, off Cemetery Road, Ebute Metta, Lagos at 2am. A baby and three others are among those killed, also six people were pulled out alive from the rubble of the collapsed building.

The National Emergency Management Agency,NEMA, South-West, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed that the collapsed building began cracking at about 1:30am and collapsed at exactly 2:am. There is still an ongoing rescue operation searching for likely survivors by emergency workers; policemen, officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Red Cross, NEMA, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the state Fire Service.

One of the survivors, Miss Dalikis Abdulamid, 23, said she was at the balcony of the second floor when the incident happened, and was rescued with her mother and her four injured siblings.

What a tragedy! Too many things to worry about in this country.
